City Farmer is a non-profit society, started in Vancouver in 1978, that promotes sustainable urban gardening practices. Their Demonstration Garden in Kitsilano, British Columbia, illustrates how to grow food in small spaces in a city. The organization also conducts training sessions for the general public, schools, and other groups about worm composting, backyard composting, organic gardening, natural yard care, and water-wise gardening.
